Plein-air

I enjoy painting outside and capturing beauty in the mundane.

I take my paints with me and try to capture the lighting and feel of what is in front of me. My paintings usually take 1-2 hrs and are always challenging, not all are successes! Paintings tagged as Plein-Air are painted on location.

I’ve painted in Sydney & Melbourne & Hobart, Australia and Vancouver, Canada. I hope to explore more places!

If I cannot paint on location, i will take a few reference photos and paint it at home.

Materials

I use Winsor and Newton Gouache paints and watercolor paper.

I enjoy gouache as a medium because it is fast drying, water based, and has high pigments
